TBN's Acquisition Of 'Holy Land Experience' Theme Park Seeks To Change More Lives

June 9, 2007 ORLANDO -- Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world's largest religious broadcaster and America's most-watched faith channel, hopes to change more lives through its addition of the "Holy Land Experience" theme park in Orlando, Fl., to the TBN family. Through the acquisition, TBN will bring an integration of the powerful living recreation of ancient Jerusalem with a cutting edge facility that will be used for television production, dramas, musical concerts, special events and movies.

"This marriage will bring an unprecedented synergy to both ministries and the production that is done there will be seen by a worldwide audience. TBN's involvement made sense, because both ministries are about changing and effecting people's lives. We've been doing that for 34 years," said Paul Crouch, Jr., TBN Vice President of Administration. "We believe this opportunity was heaven sent because it bought TBN an Orlando-based facility to fulfill it's local programming obligations for WGTL CH-52 and it will provide "The Holy Land Experience" with much needed promotion to bring more people to the theme park and Orlando as a whole."

The Holy Land Experience could well be considered Orlando's most inspiring destination as visitors experience a full day of discovery that takes them 2,000 years back in time to the world of the Bible. It brings to life ancient Israel as a unique, thriving world filled with fascinating exhibits and venues. Visitors learn about the Wilderness Tabernacle and the Great Temple; discover the amazing history of the Bible; explore the city of Jerusalem in miniature; see re-enactments of Jesus' ministry, His life, death, and resurrection; and feel the power and passion of our original musical productions.

WGTL TV, Channel 52, has a reach of over four million viewers in the Orlando and Cocoa Beach metropolitan areas with TBN's wide range of innovative faith-based programming. In October of 2006, TBN celebrated the inaugural broadcast of WGTL Ch-52 in Orlando with a dedicatory service attended by TBN founders Paul and Jan Crouch, Pastor Benny Hinn, Singer and Preacher Judy Jacobs hosted by Pastor George Cope and Calvary Assembly in Winter Park, Fl.

The combination of the production facilities and the Holy Land Experience offers Orlando visitors a powerful and unique faith based experience that can be promoted worldwide through the TBN network. The promotional capability can drive visitors to the complex.

"Some of the staff was asking what is going to be the immediate effect here at the park and my answer was 'I'm planning on you having more people coming through the turnstiles this summer,'" said Crouch. "Universal Studios does the same thing. We want the 'Holy Land Experience' to be a faith-based version of that."

Walk To Reclaim America! Update from Rick and Jane (Week 1)

2006-01-18 -- WDC Media News -- Summary News Source: Walk to Reclaim America The First Week Is History! Dear Friends, Family and Supporters of the Walk To Reclaim America: A week ago I had no idea what to expect. I had lots of preconceived notions about what would and would not happen. I’d say my expectations were only about 50% right. Lots of things are totally different than I thought they would be. I have done things that I could not have imagined doing, overcome fears that were longstanding in my life and have had to trust God in completely new areas. Every day has been a challenge in a different way. Every day has been a physical challenge. Our longest walk was on Sunday (21 miles). Our wettest walk was on Monday (hard driving rains for 8 hours). Our windiest walk was on Tuesday (50 mph winds). Our hottest walk was on Wednesday (87 degrees). Our most painful walk was on Thursday (New blisters on top of old ones). And our hardest walk was on Friday (Almost no roads, crossed streams, walked on railroad tracks, fire roads, and through the desert. We climbed 4000 feet vertically through the Cajon Pass). Every day has been a spiritual and emotional challenge. As we’ve walked we’ve prayed, praised the Lord, sung hymns and choruses, clapped, and cried. We have had some opportunities every day to share Christ. We have made a commitment to not let a single day go by without sharing with at least one person. Most days we have shared with many. Some have been receptive, some have been uninterested, and a few have been plain about the fact that they don’t believe. The highlight spiritually this week has been the leading of Anthony to the Lord. He was walking across the street in Arcadia, CA. Jane and I started sharing with him and he started crying. We shared the plan of salvation with him and asked him if he’d like to ask Jesus into his heart. Right there on the street he prayed and heaven cheered! Anthony had been born again. He hugged us and didn’t want us to go. He especially loved Jane and didn’t want her to leave. I can not put into words the emotional challenges of the week. I can not begin to share the intimate parts of my heart with you in this email. I can not begin to tell you how much it means to us that you all care and are praying for us. Yesterday as we were walking through the desert, totally alone, with no communication with our driver (we dropped the 2-way radio in the stream we had crossed earlier), not sure how long it would take to cross the mountain, Jane said, “Someone’s praying right now, I can feel it.” I agreed. In know that the tendency in a long venture like this is to be forgotten…for those back home to lose the urgency to pray. Jane and I ask that you please keep up the prayers. There will be special needs that we will let you know about, but every day is important. We never know when we will face the kinds of things that we faced yesterday. We won’t always be able to call or write, so please just make it a matter of daily prayer. Put a note on the mirror or refrigerator. Put it in your daily planner or calendar. Just pray. You can also call. On Thursday, my feet were hurting so badly. I wasn’t sure how much further I could walk. I had just checked my phone and I had no service, but the phone rang. It was a pastor in Lexington. He just called to check on us and encourage us. We hadn’t talked to him since May. He’s not someone that we are in close contact with during most of the year, but somehow God prompted him to call. He prayed with us as we walked. He prayed a great prayer! I hung up and told Jane, “I could walk 100 miles!” A little encouragement goes a long way. Lastly, I encourage you to pray that God will continue to open up doors of opportunity to share the message He has given us. We still have no rallies planned. Maybe this venture isn’t about the rallies. Maybe it’s about sharing one on one. We’re not sure. But we do believe that the message is important and that Christians need to hear it. So just pray that God will open the hearts of the pastors who need to open their doors. We love you! Thank you for all you mean to us. We’ll keep in touch. --Rick & Jane ### How You Can Help We need lots of volunteers! We need state coordinators to arrange travel arrangements and rallies, drivers for escort vehicles, people to help with mailings, and lots of other jobs. You can volunteer for a few days or until the walk is over. We need walkers to join us for a few days, a week, a month, or the entire walk. We encourage youth groups to use this walk as a mission trip, families to spend part of their vacations walking, and other concerned Christians to join us for this once in a lifetime ministry opportunity. We need financial support! You can help with a monthly gift, a one time gift, or a donation based on an amount per mile.
