TBN's Acquisition Of 'Holy Land Experience' Theme Park Seeks To Change More Lives

June 9, 2007 ORLANDO -- Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world's largest religious broadcaster and America's most-watched faith channel, hopes to change more lives through its addition of the "Holy Land Experience" theme park in Orlando, Fl., to the TBN family. Through the acquisition, TBN will bring an integration of the powerful living recreation of ancient Jerusalem with a cutting edge facility that will be used for television production, dramas, musical concerts, special events and movies.

"This marriage will bring an unprecedented synergy to both ministries and the production that is done there will be seen by a worldwide audience. TBN's involvement made sense, because both ministries are about changing and effecting people's lives. We've been doing that for 34 years," said Paul Crouch, Jr., TBN Vice President of Administration. "We believe this opportunity was heaven sent because it bought TBN an Orlando-based facility to fulfill it's local programming obligations for WGTL CH-52 and it will provide "The Holy Land Experience" with much needed promotion to bring more people to the theme park and Orlando as a whole."

The Holy Land Experience could well be considered Orlando's most inspiring destination as visitors experience a full day of discovery that takes them 2,000 years back in time to the world of the Bible. It brings to life ancient Israel as a unique, thriving world filled with fascinating exhibits and venues. Visitors learn about the Wilderness Tabernacle and the Great Temple; discover the amazing history of the Bible; explore the city of Jerusalem in miniature; see re-enactments of Jesus' ministry, His life, death, and resurrection; and feel the power and passion of our original musical productions.

WGTL TV, Channel 52, has a reach of over four million viewers in the Orlando and Cocoa Beach metropolitan areas with TBN's wide range of innovative faith-based programming. In October of 2006, TBN celebrated the inaugural broadcast of WGTL Ch-52 in Orlando with a dedicatory service attended by TBN founders Paul and Jan Crouch, Pastor Benny Hinn, Singer and Preacher Judy Jacobs hosted by Pastor George Cope and Calvary Assembly in Winter Park, Fl.

The combination of the production facilities and the Holy Land Experience offers Orlando visitors a powerful and unique faith based experience that can be promoted worldwide through the TBN network. The promotional capability can drive visitors to the complex.

"Some of the staff was asking what is going to be the immediate effect here at the park and my answer was 'I'm planning on you having more people coming through the turnstiles this summer,'" said Crouch. "Universal Studios does the same thing. We want the 'Holy Land Experience' to be a faith-based version of that."

Alito Confirmed to High Court; Pro-Family, Christian Groups Applaud Senate Vote

By Dave Bohon -- WDC Media News

2006-01-31 -- WDC Media News -- WDC Media News Samuel Alito Jr. was confirmed today as the nation’s newest Supreme Court Justice, after a vote of 58-42 by the U.S. Senate. A former federal appellate judge, U.S. attorney, and conservative lawyer for the Reagan administration, Alito replaces retiring Justice Sandra day O’Connor. Alito is the second Supreme Court Justice appointed by President George Bush, following the confirmation of John Roberts as Chief Justice. "Judge Alito is extraordinarily well-qualified to serve on our nation’s highest court, and America is fortunate that this good and humble man is willing to serve," said the President on Monday, following an end to Senate debate on Alito’s nomination. All but one of the Senate’s Republican majority cast their votes in favor of Alito, while all but four of Democrats voted against him. Senate Majority Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) applauded the Alito vote, saying, "In every respect, Judge Alito is a nominee who meets the highest standards of excellence." In a message to the new justice he said, “Today, you will become the 110th justice to serve on the court throughout America’s history. It is a seat that is reserved for few -- but that impacts millions." Faith-based and pro-family leaders championed Alito’s confirmation, seeing his past conservative record as a key indication that he will be a needed conservative vote on social issues like abortion and homosexual rights. “There is no question that Justice Alito will serve the nation and the high court with honor and distinction,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, who worked to support the Alito nomination. “It is disappointing that some Senators caved in to the far left ideologues who opposed Judge Alito. Even so, this is an important and proud day for America. We know that the conservative judicial philosophy that Judge Alito embraced as a federal appeals court judge for 15 years will serve as the cornerstone of his tenure on the high court. Judge Alito understands the limited role of the judiciary and is committed to interpreting the Constitution, not rewriting it. Those values will serve him well as Justice Alito begins his work on the Supreme Court.” Concerned Women for America (CWA) also aggressively championed Alito’s nomination throughout the confirmation process. “Americans can rest assured knowing that we have one more highly qualified justice on the Supreme Court who is deeply committed to the written Constitution and the rule of law,” said Jan LaRue, CWA’s Chief Counsel. “Judge Alito is everything a judge should be and I am confident he will rule with both integrity and respect for the rights of every American.” LaRue recalled the relentless opposition Alito faced during the confirmation process. “It’s tragic that Judge Alito and his family had to endure such outrageous treatment by some members of the Senate,” she said. “The relentless attacks of his character and competence were completely unjustified. Fortunately, the liberals’ tactics only revealed their sheer desperation. The truth prevailed, and Judge Alito was able to leave the hearings with his head held high, having gained even greater respect from the American people. We can all be proud and gratified knowing that Judge Alito will be seated on the highest court of our land. This is truly a great day for Americans.” Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council, predicted that Justice Alito would “contribute to a hopeful legacy of change in American law. The hope resides within the American people, whose weariness over the Court’s embrace of judicial activism rallied voters across the country in pursuit of a new course, a course true to our founders’ intent. Justice Alito is a reflection of that intent.”
